Prepping for Ragnar Chicago 2013

The time has come for Ragnar Chicago 2013! The overnight relay race begins in Madison, Wisconsin and ends at Montrose Beach in Chicago, Illinois. Yesterday was a gorgeous fall day here in Southeastern Wisconsin, but was tarnished when a deranged gunman attacked his wife and six other innocent people at a local spa. Three people died, and four were injured. It was a total shock – another shooting in our community, another senseless tragedy. When things like this happen, I feel.. Read More

Race Report: Glacial Trail 50k

Where to begin… this was one beast of a race. On or around my 30th birthday, I decided I wanted to do more trail running in the year ahead. My birthday is the day after Christmas. I hit the trails as soon as I could in the spring, driving out to Lapham Peak on weekend mornings. I recall running 6 miles with a friend on St. Patrick’s Day, before joining.. Read More

Glacial Trail 50k

I survived! The 50k at Glacial Trail was the rainiest, muddiest, most humbling and yet the most amusing time I’ve had at any race. The volunteers and fellow runners made the already awesome experience, completely amazing. Race report to follow!
